The neighbourhood:
Nestled between chic Seminyak and hipster Canggu, Umalas has become one of the most exclusive locations in Bali with a number of gourmet restaurants, trendy cafés and luxury spas. To be exact, this villa is next to (50metres away) Warung Dua and Bucu.
Favourite picks of cafés & restaurants in Umalas include:
- Warung Dua: favourite among expats and with a relaxed vibe, Warung Dua offers coffee, fresh juices and yummy Indonesian food. It is a great pit stop in Umalas if you are looking for quick, tasty and cheap food and would be a great introduction to the famous ‘Indonesian Warungs’.
- Habitual: A small exclusive café with some one-of-a-kind burgers that is only open for breakfast and lunch. With a world class American chef and a contemporary chic décor, this place is dressed in dark colours to create an ambiance! The café also offers pasta, soups and salads and some yummy desserts.
- Bucu: must-go for a family as it has an interesting playground downstairs (including an inflatable water castle when the sun is out). The playground is half inside and half outside so it is also convenient during the rainy season. As well as that, the food, coffee and atmosphere are great!
- Nook: With its unbeatable rice field views, this open spaced place serves Balinese specialties in addition to Western favourites at very reasonable prices. The heavenly juices, huge smoothies and seafood kebab or fresh oysters on a Sunday are real crowd pleasers.
- Monsieur Spoon: An oh-la-la French bakery perfect for a ‘petit dejeuner’. Definitely the best croissants on the island but not only limited to that. Do also try the breakfast, lunch and dinner options and you will not be disappointed!
- La Casetta: For pizza lovers, this is your place. Pizzas don’t come better than this, the pasta is to die for and don’t even get me started with the pannacotta or ‘Sorbetto al Limone’ for dessert. It is one of our favourite Italian restaurants for a very good reason!
Getting around:
We can provide a 14seater Hiace mini bus with driver for $85 USD = 1.200.000 IDR for 8 hours or $55 US = 800.000 IDR for 5 hours. Alternatively, the staff can help rent a motorbike. Prices range from $5.5 USD = 80.000 IDR for a standard Vario to $18 US = 250.000 IDR for the more premium Nmax.

Very nice and very new, the service also very good. No open spaces and no insects. We liked it
because we were a lot of people and needed a lot of space. We had also to work so needed good
internet. The staff gave us very interesting recommendations of where to go and eat. Will come back
for sure!

We loved the place and the politeness of the staff! Professional service, everything impeccable.
Honestly, we were looking for something in Canggu but prices have gone through the roof. Then we
stumbled upon this gem. 10 private villas with pools just for ourselves. For socialising we would go to
the restaurant next door and when we needed some peace and quiet we would just have all the
space we wanted in our private villa. I would like to say a very very big thank you to all the team for
tolerating us!

We had the most wonderful time at this villa. We are a group of female entrepreneurs that came to
Bali for an event and needed a large space that could fit all 10 of us with very good internet. We
could not be more happy with this choice as it ticked all the boxes: reliable internet, privacy, clean
and new, restaurants in walking distance, professional service. This is definitely a 10 out of 10 stay!

We were 8 couples and 2 singles and though we were looking for a big villa – which was either hard
to find or very expensive – we came across this listing. In the beginning we were a bit doubtful, but
then…oh my god! It worked so well! We had 10 new villas for ourselves. The good thing is since we
were most couples we had a lot of privacy – all villas have a plunge pool and living room. Plus it
worked very economically for all of us. Then for breakfast, we went daily to the warung just in front.
We cannot recommend this option enough for a big group. Great value for money and very new! Big
thank you to the team for having us and to Bali Comfy Villas for their patience in answering all our
100 questions.
